When I was about 8 years old, two caring Aunts (Evelyn Harris and Laura Bond) completely surprised me with homemade birthday cakes during an out-of-town visit to see relatives. Even at that young age, I realized how thoughtful these gestures were and felt immense gratitude for my Aunts whom I didn’t really know at the time. In fact, these two cakes stand out more than any other birthday cake I received throughout my childhood because of how unexpected they were and happy they made me feel.

As a child, it was all about me. But years later, I realized the strong impact that all of us can have on the important people in our lives and even strangers when we make them feel special through acts of kindness.  

Cakes2Connect was started with dedicated volunteers who bake and deliver cakes to deserving chosen women. The cake recipients are identified through various charities and organizations focusing on improving the health and quality of women’s lives.
